About Us
The Evangelical Fellowship of India (EFI) formed the EFI Council of Churches (EFICC) as a national body and was inaugurated on 4th November 2014, at Guwahati, with Bishop C. V. Mathew serving as Chairman and Rev. Dr. Richard Howell as the General Secretary. After the retirement of Bishop C. V. Mathew, the Rev. Dr. D. Mohan was unanimously elected as the Chairman of EFICC, now the CECI. And further, upon his retirement from AGI, the Rev. Dr. J. Chiranjeevi was unanimously elected as the Chairman of the CECI and Rev. Akhilesh Edgar was appointed as the Associate General Secretary.
Our Identity
The Council is an expression of the unity of Evangelical and Pentecostal Churches, which also promote inter-church unity among all denominations in India.

To bring together churches, institutions, organizations and associations scattered in our land of India, facilitating unity, spiritual renewal, witness and dialogue, to equip His people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up.

Directive Principle
Our faith in a reconciling God : “... God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation : that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.” (2 Cor. 5: 18 - 19)
Our Purpose
The CECI provides a dynamic platform to achieve above-stated vision as a member of the part of the One Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, the Body of Christ, united by the indwelling Spirit.

The CECI is committed to the Gospel values of Peace, Justice and Reconciliation, building bridges with people of all faiths for the common good and upholding the Constitution of India.
Our Objectives
- To bring together churches, institutions, organizations, and associations scattered in our land of India and abroad to facilitate unity, dialogue, and
- To facilitate spiritual renewal.
- To provide a forum for the diffusion of useful moral, social, cultural, spiritual, and scientific knowledge.
- To facilitate witness.
- To engage in education, health, relief, development, disaster management, and other charitable activities for the benefit of all people with a commitment to the cause of the nation building.
- To share the love of Jesus Christ by promoting harmony.
- To facilitate services for Character Formation.

Our Statement of Faith
We Believe in –
- The Holy Bible, which is the fully and uniquely inspired Word of God, the only infallible, sufficient and authoritative rule of faith and practice.
- One God, eternally existent in three Divine Persons : Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- The deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His vicarious death and atonement through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, His mediatory intercession, and His personal return in power and glory. He is the only Saviour of mankind.
- The salvation of lost and sinful men through regeneration by the Holy Spirit.
- The indwelling of the believer by the Holy Spirit, enabling the Christian to live a godly life.
- The resurrection of both the saved and the lost : they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of the damnation.
- The Spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, who comprise the Church, the Body of Christ.
